National healthcare reform is taking center stage during this election year. The National Center for Policy Analysis will host a panel of experts to discuss the question: "Is Consumer-Directed Health Care Reshaping the Health Care System?"
One of the key presenters, Robert Hurley, the eHealthInsurance Chief Operating Officer for Health Savings Account Solutions, will unveil the first nationwide data on the "HSA Early Marketplace: Costs, Benefits and Demographics." Mr. Hurley will give information about the benefit and premium levels of the Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) currently available to the market through eHealthInsurance.com, as well as demographics information of consumers who have purchased them.
Earlier this year, the Bush administration passed its HSA legislation to offset the continued rise of health insurance premiums and the prospect of many more Americans who may not have access to healthcare services due to lack of health insurance. eHealthInsurance is the leading online provider of health insurance and is now offering HSA-eligible health insurance plans, and the new eHealthInsurance HSA to go with them, in its suite of diverse product offerings that many people can afford.
Consumers who have adopted HSAs are establishing a sort of 401(k) for health care that enables them to pay for traditional healthcare services such as doctor visits, as well as some that are not typically covered, including LASIK, laser eye surgery, and dental work such as orthodontics or crowns. This makes HSAs a financial opportunity for American consumers to save pre-tax money for these expenses in an interest bearing or mutual fund account, and pay their medical expenses with that pre-tax money without penalty.
Please contact Rebecca Mettler at 949-643-6765 or 703-867-7897, rebeccapr@sbcglobal.net to make an appointment with eHealthInsurance's COO Robert Hurley and discuss the most recent Health Savings Accounts legislation, its impact on businesses and the consumers it intends to serve.
